Blue Whisper's Last Spin

On Thursday, June 1, 2006 Larry, Jim Baker and Mark Enochs headed to Arizona Snowbowl for one last ride on Blue Whisper. Larry's faithful Beemer of ten years had been sold to Joseph Keith "Kit" Yanka of Kirkland and he was coming to pick her up on June 2. Kit had owned a 1976 R90/6 when he was stationed in Germany and now semi-retired wanted to buy Blue Whisper and restore her to original glory.
When in Flag we met up with BJ "El Lobo" Boyle and headed up to Snowbowl for lunch. Since Beej was riding his Harley it was necessary to "push" him up Snowbowl Road. Things went well as only a few sparks were witnessed from the foot plates kissing the asphalt. Beej is a great rider and would be awesome with a "real" bike!!!
We all enjoyed our alpine lunch experience and headed back to Flag for a final good bye.

On our way home back through Oak Creek we spotted a forest fire around Schnebly Hill. Turned out it burned a few homes in the upper reaches of Village of Oak Creek.
The next day Kit stopped by to pick up Blue Whisper. It was a conflicted day. I really wanted a bike I could take on long trips, but Blue Whisper had become a family friend. I sure hope she has another good home.
